Pisa Tour - Castelli e siti archeologici
Santa Luce Lake Nature Reserve of Santa Luce Oasis, surrounded by cultivated fields in the middle of the Pisan hills, covers the entire surface of a lake 709.957mq, made by Solvay Italy in the '60s, as a watershed fire. The Oasis LIPU Santa Luce is located about 3 km from the homonymous town, a few tens of kilometers from Pisa, is an important staging area for migratory birds. In winter the lake is populated by Moriglioni of teals, mallards and a widgeon. In summer you can see the Cetti's Warbler, the Marsh, the great reed warbler, the kestrel and the buzzard as well as other species. The best season is spring when you can enjoy the Great Crested Grebe, especially high as a symbol of the oasis. Even the "migration" as herons appear on the lake and along its banks.
